This page explains what personal information Volare Media collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect only what we need to reply to you, do the work and measure our own marketing, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
Volare Media is a video production and marketing company based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means Volare Media. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
Information you give us
- Forms on this website. Your name, your email address or phone number, and anything you choose to tell us, such as your goals, budget or timeline.
- Facebook and Instagram forms. If you fill out one of our forms on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes us what you submit, such as your name, email address and phone number.
- Email, calls and messages. Whatever you send us when you get in touch directly.
Information collected automatically
When you visit volaremedia.net, the site uses cookies and similar technology from Google and Meta to record the pages you view, the device and browser you use, your approximate location (city level, based on your IP address), how you arrived (for example from a search or one of our ads) and actions such as sending a form or tapping our phone number. The tools are:
- Google Analytics, to understand how people use the site
- Google Ads conversion tracking, to measure which of our ads lead to enquiries
- Meta Pixel, to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads
Some pages include videos embedded from YouTube or Vimeo, which may set their own cookies when you play them. We don't take payments on this website.
How we use it
- To reply to you and set up your free creative session or project
- To plan, produce and deliver work you hire us for, and to invoice for it
- To understand how the site is used and make it better
- To measure our advertising and show our ads to people who have visited this site (known as remarketing)
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We won't use your information for anything unrelated to these purposes without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only what they need:
- Hostinger, which hosts this website and delivers form submissions to our inbox
- Google, for email (Google Workspace), Google Analytics and Google Ads
- Meta, for Facebook and Instagram ads and forms
We may also disclose information when the law requires it. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it can be subject to the laws of that country.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and client records for as long as we need them to work with you and to meet legal and accounting requirements, then delete them. If you get in touch and we don't end up working together, you can ask us to delete your details at any time.
Your choices
- You can browse this site without giving us any personal information.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on, manage Google ads in My Ad Center, and manage Facebook and Instagram ads in your Meta ad preferences.
- You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to us using it (which may limit how we can work with you). Email video@volaremedia.net and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including a secure (HTTPS) connection on this site, password-protected accounts and access limited to the people who need it to do their job.
Children
This site and our services are meant for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
